Found the secret to not getting hassled while doing mystery shopping apps.

When they ask what they can help with, just say you’re shopping for someone else and you’re taking pictures because you have no idea what they want. Pretty much act like a lost dog. Bonus if you’re a guy taking pictures of makeup that’s behind a cashier, “It’s for my girlfriend *rolls eyes* which one is mascara?”

I’ve read stories about people getting kicked out and detained by the police while using mystery shopping apps. Has never happened to me. This excuse is pretty plausible. While filling out info they’ll just think you’re texting the person you’re shopping for.

It’s also a really good excuse to tell the clerk to get out of the way while you take pictures of the stuff behind him.

  1. I just put in both wireless earbuds and carry no bags. I pretend not to hear them when they try to help me . If they do get me to answer I say I’m really picky and want to go home and read reviews online before I buy.

I’ve only been thrown out once in hundreds of shops/ missions

It was a tiny gas station store. I was in there for 15 minutes collecting beer pics and prices . Guy tried to grab my phone and grabbed my arm … im an old lady so I screamed and told him not to touch me … I no longer accept missions c store price checks … even when they offer 20.00 bucks

    1. Damn thats crazy, did you put a complaint somewhere as the company pays you to do that although I doubt anything will come from it.

  2. No I didn’t complain. I was almost done anyhow. I just refuse those shops at any cost. Guy was foreign and he felt I was a competitor no amount of explaining could get him to leave me alone. He waited till it was just him and ( what looked liked family members were in the station) to go after me.

  3. I have never used a mystery shopper app but have often legitimately done this and never got hassled for what it’s worth.
