S’Mores is pissing me off.

The only reason I have it is because of the passive earning 10¢ a day.

None of the “offers” are real and the surveys suck.

I just went through 2 long surveys.

In the 2nd survey, they asked for my demographic information so I knew I was at the end. Then they asked me if they could have my Facebook to study my “likes”. They assured me that it was optional and that I would not be disqualified.

I said “no”, and I was disqualified. Why can’t they ask qualifying questions in the beginning? (I think I know the answer to this). At least mTurk does this, and they pay way better than S’Mores at that!

These shady researchers are only gonna screw themselves. Now, I have no desire to answer truthfully. I can still spot their “attention questions” and give b.s. answers for everything if they want to be like that.

Getting free research by pretending to disqualify participants. Sneaky bastards.

  1. Side note, semi-unrelated:

Anyone been having issues with the non-app Smore’s site, and engageme?

No points being awarded, at all.

    1. On my favorite rewards site, Adscend’s EngageMe TV portal is useless. I’ll test it once a month, but I get no credits. Right now, Smore’s has to be babysat every 5-10 minutes, because they’re becoming a useless pleb. My gut tells me they’re one of *those* companies that creates a new clone every 1-2 years.

Just wait. They’ll create a new site. Let’s call it Sankyu TV. ^((There’s a pun in there.)) Everything about it will look just like Smores and EngageMe, except they’ll probably color it baby pink or lavendar, because they’ve already used blue and brown. You’ll see literally all the same content providers, including that champ who reviews games and movies, and probably has the most original content because he’s not trying to be buzzfeed, TMZ, or your average LA beverage vlogger.

    1. I have to say, they actually improved in that regard.

They now ask you to watch 2 videos per point instead of 3, and the videos are sometimes as short as 15 seconds.

I almost never do the surveys any more. The time would be better spent earning a dollar on mturk in all the time it takes me to be disqualified 3 times in a row!

      1. This happens with literally any survey site to be honest. The only exception I know of is the app Surveys On The Go, which pays you 10 cents if you disqualify and will typically disqualify you within 1-5 questions, MAYBE up to 10. I don’t really blame s’more for this directly and I like them because of what you just mentioned about the videos. Just don’t do surveys.

  2. Smores does surveys? This is the same Smores that Adscend runs? I’m sorry, but I’m not letting any site study my activity.

As a rule of thumb, the average survey router pulls from the same sources. If you ever run across Tap Research, they’re great in terms of crediting per attempt. Just don’t DQ on purpose. I think the key is finding a site that has a very strict anti-bot/cheat system. Unfortunately, that means only servicing US, Canada, and the UK. I’m not throwing shade at other countries, but I’ve had enough experience on Mturk to see what countries employers ban from their HITs. And as a gamer, I know why, because similar tactics are used in cheating on games.
